Through the eyes of four women Rodrigo Dorfman shows us in this documentary film, what it means to live in exile and leaving his own home country behind. When Rodrigo Dorfman was 6 years old he hat do go into exile as well, after his father, a Chilean writer, got into troubles with the regime of Chile. The 4 women are a Taiwanese pianist haunted by nightmares of her past; an Afro Caribbean Whirling Dervish on a pilgrimage to Turkey; a Latina artist mourning the destruction of her community and a young American woman caught in a web of spiritual abuse. The documentary GENERATION EXILE is a meditation on our search for identity in a world full of pain and wonder.
