Paraoh Akhenaten, father of Tutankhamun, ruled Egypt for 17 years. At his time, he was the first king to believe in only one god. Egypt was the largest empire the world had ever seen. As the most powerful and feared nation, nobody questioned its might. In 1390bc, when Akhenaten became pharao Egypt was rich, respected and free. Akhenaten didn´t have to fight wars like his father did, but he had to protect the empire. After his death, his son Tutankhamun become pharao.
This documentary showes the life and tragedies of Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti. The religious revolution is also addressed. Moreover the tomb of Tutankhamun, and the precious gifts inside the tomb, are shown.
